MINISTER OF JOBS, ECONOMY AND TRADE
As Minister of Jobs, Economy and Trade and honourary patron of Economic Developers Alberta, I want to extend greetings to the readership of
Invest in Alberta/Xperience Alberta.
Economic developers play a vital role in Alberta’s growth and prosperity. You support our competitiveness
as a province and ensure Albertans can have a high
quality of life. The economic developers who work in our communities are dedicated, resilient professionals who rise to challenges and chase opportunities each and every day.
Our government has always emphasized the importance of building a strong economy. After all, it is a strong economy that instills confidence in business and supports Albertans in having good paying and abundant jobs, high average weekly earnings, the lowest taxes in the country and key public services. Coupled with a skilled and diverse workforce, Alberta is unstoppable.
Alberta is making strategic investments through Alberta at Work and in apprenticeship and training seats, so that companies have the talent pipeline to fill jobs today and in the future. And we are supporting communities through the Northern and Regional Economic Development program, which provides funding for regional growth.
This province is thriving thanks to your hard work
and that of leadership partners like Economic Developers Alberta. Together, we are fostering an Alberta that is open for business and primed for investment, ensuring Alberta is the economic and job creation engine of Canada for many years to come.
