Not just a lifestyle magazine, Edify is a CITY magazine that reflects the attitudes, ideas, energy and sophistication of its resident city. With diverse writing voices and superb art direction, Edify’s editorial features also challenge readers by pushing boundaries and bringing the best in local journalism. Edify is a cultural artifact for our city.
Under the direction of Publisher Trudy Callaghan, Editor-in-Chief Steven Sandor and Art Director Kim Larson, Edify authentically reflects Edmonton in a way that informs and intrigues, uplifts and entertains.
We chose the name Edify because of what it means: To make or to build; to inform in an uplifting way. Of course, the big “ED” in our name … well, it’s all about Edmonton, isn’t it?
With 99% pick up from over 400 keystands in greater Edmonton, the print magazine is Odvod’s flagship title. Weekly newsletters Ed Eats, Edifive and Ed on the Town, garner highly engaged audiences and the brand extends to signature events, a soon to be released podcast and ever-growing social media platforms.
Urban AF is an online publication that tells uniquely Edmonton stories, in a way that does away with some of the boring, established practices that are killing modern journalism. We don’t need to do the “we were there” reporting, to tell people about press conferences they already streamed. We prefer one-on-one chats to scrums.
Our readers are already plugged into the city. They care about their community. We’re here to tell the stories behind the stories, the kind of thoughtful pieces that are the hallmarks of magazine journalism.
With a pro-business attitude, Urban AF, reflects the thinking of local entrepreneurs, city builders and those that want to see Edmonton thrive.
With a weekly newsletter, Friday AF, hitting more than 6,000 engaged subscribers, Urban Affairs is Edmonton’s must-read for business.
