History

Established in 2006, Odvod Publishing started as a partnership. Back then, the marketing firm Odvod Media, saw a need for Edmonton to have a magazine that reflected the city’s metropolitan lifestyle and wanted to work with an experienced partner.

Odvod Publishing published Avenue Edmonton successfully for 14 years, winning several editorial and art awards, including Alberta Magazine Publishers Association Magazine of the Year – twice.

When Covid-19 hit, Odvod Media decided to move forward as the only shareholder. The Avenue brand ceased with the Summer 2020 issue and Odvod Publishing announced a new publication for its city – Edify. It’s the same award-winning team, same local company, but with a significant rebrand and redesign.

Odvod has worked with some of Edmonton’s most innovative businesses and not-for-profits, developing engaging content that reaches key audiences and stakeholders effectively and memorably for its own titles as well as several custom publications.

Our deep experience in publishing has led our companies to rewarding relationships with Edmonton Community Foundation’s Legacy in Action, University Hospital Foundation’s Here magazine, Economic Developers of Alberta’s Invest in Alberta/Xperience Alberta and Consulting Engineers of Alberta’s Alberta Innovators.
