 MESSAGE FROM
RURAL MUNICIPALITIES OF ALBERTA
 Paul McLauchlin
PRESIDENT,
RURAL MUNICIPALITIES OF ALBERTA
As Alberta continues to grow, rural municipalities play a unique role in directly supporting industrial
development by delivering quality infrastructure and services used to provide access to natural resources, and by working with industry to ensure land use planning and development strategies support new investment while protecting critical agricultural land and environmentally-sensitive areas.
The Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) represents Alberta’s 69 rural municipalities, which cover 85% of the land within the province. We are proud of the work that we do to advocate on behalf of our members,
but more importantly we are proud
of our members’ efforts to make rural communities across Alberta vibrant, innovative and welcoming for both the industries that have traditionally driven Alberta’s growth and new companies seeking great local government partners.
Alberta is in a great position to continue to thrive in a changing economy, and rural Alberta is where it all starts. With access to well established transportation networks, competitive property tax rates, and opportunity for business growth, come find out what makes us uniquely rural!
  MESSAGE FROM
ALBERTA MUNICIPALITIES
Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) represents 265 communities across the province, including summer villages,
villages, towns and cities. Our association
has been advocating on behalf of our member communities to the Government of Alberta since 1905. Our motto, “Strength in Members,” conveys the idea that when we work together and speak as one, we speak volumes.
We are enthusiastic and proud supporters of Economic Developers Alberta. Our members are eager to see Alberta succeed and continue its economic growth. We know that for Alberta’s economy to succeed, local businesses of all sizes must succeed. To this end, our members are
committed to ensuring their communities offer the infrastructure, high-speed internet service and favourable operating environment that Alberta’s businesses need now and for decades to come.
On behalf of ABmunis’ members, board of directors and administrative staff, I congratulate Economic Developers Alberta on the organization’s 50th anniversary. It’s a significant milestone, and one that’s well worth celebrating.
We look forward to building strong, resilient communities together and contributing to a more prosperous Alberta in 2024.
