CITY OF BEAUMONT
WELCOME TO
BEAUMONT
It's Western Canada’s third-fastest
growing community and the fastest-
growing city in the Edmonton
Metropolitan Region. Growing at an
annual rate of 5.6 per cent over the last
20 years, Beaumont has transformed
from a quaint bedroom community into a
vibrant city with a population of 23,489.
The city is emerging as a promising
avenue for light industry opportunities
in small-scale manufacturing, agrifood,
training and development, and business
expansion. Let’s grow together and be
part of tomorrow, today.
A STRATEGIC LOCATION
10 kilometres from Edmonton and the
Edmonton International Airport, Beaumont
is minutes from key trade routes and
facilities such as the CANAMEX corridor,
Queen Elizabeth II Highway and the
inland Port of Alberta where air, rail,
pipelines and roadways converge to
create a regional manufacturing, cargo,
and logistical hub.
A PLACE FOR INNOVATION
After the success of launching Western
Canada’s first autonomous shuttle pilot
project on public roads, the city is now
preparing to launch a large industrial
park for the continued support and
development of a best-in-class campus
for commercial transportation and
technological innovation. Beaumont is
prepared to be the place businesses can
develop and test innovation in the city
before taking products to mass production.
All of this is supported by a robust ultra
high-speed broadband network. With a
capacity of 10 gigabits per second, the
network is designed to enable scalable
growth for future technology and industry.
Beaumont is ready to become a dynamic
space for emerging technology and
industrial projects.
TREMENDOUS GROWTH POTENTIAL
Beaumont is home to over 250 commercial
businesses with more on the way. Business
growth is taking off to support our rapidly
growing population, with permit values
increasing an average of six per cent
each year since 2019. In 2023, overall
development permits reached $149 million,
exceeding $100 million for the second
consecutive year. In the first six months
of 2024, the city issued more than $34
million in commercial permits, exceeding
the $32 million for all of 2023.
A COMPETITIVE EDGE
With a non-residential tax rate more than
50 per cent lower than Edmonton’s, it’s
no wonder businesses are ready to build
in Beaumont!
All this growth is supported by a highly
skilled and educated workforce. Forty
per cent of our residents are employed
in a natural resources, sciences, trades,
manufacturing or utilities related career.
More than 64 per cent of residents have
strong competencies and skillsets through
apprenticeships, trades and college
certificates, meaning employers will not
have to look far to find a skilled workforce.
Be a part of one of Canada’s fastest-
growing regions. Let’s build tomorrow, today!
