Powering up on Hydrogen
Alberta is Canada’s largest hydrogen producer and we’re growing.
Alberta Innovates is home to the Hydrogen Centre of Excellence, a dynamic funding program and collaboration forum combined with leading-edge testing and service facilities. The goal is to de-risk hydrogen technology development end to end.
Alberta produces 2.5 million tonnes of hydrogen annually and the global hydrogen market is projected to be worth over $2.5 trillion a year by 2050. Alberta’s hydrogen can be the key to surging demand while cutting carbon emissions in transportation, powering homes, and fueling industries in the province, across the country, and around the world.
